MARAMING SALAMAT!!! (Thank you)

It was always a pleasure to see our fellow runners experienced a different kind of running event. An event which promotes camaraderie which other races can never offer and something that we ourselves enjoy staging yearly. Days after FAT ASS, I could not access my internet at the office and had to wait until I got home. It was Don who gave me some initial feedback from the runners. I could tell he was happy based on his SMS. Honestly, I myself reread (paulit ulit) your Facebook accounts and blogs of those who joined  the event. To say it was heartwarming is an understatement.

2011 FAT ASS RESULTS

On behalf of the organizers, Team Clark members, volunteers, donors and of course, the runners, thank you for joining 2011 FAT ASS and CONGRATULATIONS! It was an awesome experience! Full event report later on.

Before posting the results, thank you to the following donors (in no particular order of importance) who supported the event by giving goods and/or cash. There are, however, some donors who wanted to remain anonymous. Thank you so much as well.

BIRTHDAY RUN and FAT ASS REMINDERS

BIRTHDAY RUN

During the past few days, I was thinking of what to do with my birthday leave (06 January). It is a  privilege in our company (CDC) which must be availed of generally on the birth day itself. So what would be the best way to spend it than by running, that is running the mileage the same as my age. So today I ran 41K (am still young ... young-at-heart:) and my time on the road allowed me plenty of time to think (which I never do during races. My mind seems to stop thinking) about FAT ASS 2011, BDM160, UTMB, etc. Of course, I spent this day as well with my family. Another thought that crossed my mind was how I could have failed to run the distance equals my age during my past birthdays. I should have started 12 years ago when it was way manageable. So to those young and young-at-heart runners out there, you might want to start doing this as a habit. It is satisfying. I wonder if I could continue doing this when I reached 60-70 years of age. (Laugh). Hmm. Time will tell.

FAT ASS IS FULL AND ... LIVE!!! ... FINAL LIST, GUIDELINES, ETC.

Happy New Year, folks!

This year seems to bring a lot of energy and new goals for the runners. Time to chart your own destiny.

FAT ASS IS FULL AND ... LIVE!!! (Think of  the UFC announcer when you read - "LIVE!!!" :)

Folks, some latest updates but at the outset, let me share to you the news courtesy of Francisco "Isko" Lapira, Jr. (pioneer of FAT ASS and 24-hour entrant for 2011) that FAT ASS appeared on the newspaper, page A32 of Philippine Daily Inquirer  issue last 17 December 2010, Friday and will appear in its subsequent issues. We will post it here once the dates are set. My apology for the error in the earlier date. Thanks Isko!

Updated FAT ASS 2011 ... Registration and Details

FOREWORD

Alright, this cannot be postponed any longer. FAT ASS 2011 will be held early next month. The news seems to have travelled far and wide. For instance, my runner (Bles) and I (as pacer) during yesterday's Quezon City International Marathon overheard a group of runners talking about FAT ASS while they were running unmindful that one of its organizers was around :) They thought it is a 2-day event and all that stuff. We chuckled.

FAT ASS now @ FACEBOOK!

Finally, the upcoming FAT ASS 2011 is now at FACEBOOK!

This was done to inform and attract a bigger audience. We'll post more information later on as soon as the administrator learns how to maintain a FACEBOOK account :) Needless to say, suggestions and recommendations on how to improve our FAT ASS Facebook page are welcome!

Again, FAT ASS will be from 08 to 09 January 2011, at Clark Parade Ground, Clark Freeport Zone, Philippines. So mark that date on your calendar!

Cheers,

Jon (thinking of the rules for bigger number of 2011 Fat Ass runners)
